• Profile settings, preferences, AI Persona choices, and service credentials that you choose to provide.
• Your messages to the AI Persona, generated reports, and other content you submit or request.
• Operational information, such as feature usage, credit usage, request timestamps, diagnostics, and security events.

3. Financial Data and Connected Services

When you connect Lunch Money, Smarty Cents uses the access token you provide to retrieve financial information from your account on a read-only basis. Imported transactions, accounts, budgets, and categories are processed temporarily to answer your requests and are not stored in the Smarty Cents database. Your access token is stored in encrypted form and is not displayed after you save it.

• Provide, personalize, and maintain the service.
• Authenticate users and protect accounts and infrastructure.
• Process financial questions and generate requested insights or reports.
• Measure usage, manage credits, troubleshoot problems, and improve reliability.

Smarty Cents uses artificial intelligence services to interpret your questions and provide financial insights. Your messages, relevant profile context, and financial summaries may be processed to generate a response. Avoid including personal information that is not needed for your request.

We may share information with service providers that support hosting, authentication, cloud infrastructure, AI processing, monitoring, and connected financial services. These providers include Amazon Web Services, Vercel, and Lunch Money where applicable. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a business transfer.

7. Cookies and Local Storage

We use cookies required for authentication, security, and session management. Authentication cookies are protected from client-side script access where supported. Chat history may be stored in your browser for the current session and is cleared when you sign out or the browser session ends.

8. Data Retention

We retain account and profile information while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. Usage and security records may be retained for limited periods for operations, compliance, and fraud prevention. Generated reports are normally deleted after seven days. When you delete your account, we delete associated account data, except for limited records that we must retain for legal, security, or promotional eligibility purposes.

We use technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption, access controls, secure authentication cookies, and log redaction. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
